It has been suggested that we compile a list of reef related acronyms. Please feel free to add your acronyms and I will add them to this list and post it at the top of this forum. Note, I will add your name to the credits and delete your post after I add the acronyms to keep this post concise.

RTN - Rapid tissue necrosis, protozoal infection of corals; can be rapidly fatal if not treated
SG - Specific gravity
SLIP - PVC fitting without any threads that is intended to be cemented/glued
SPS - Small polyped Scleractinian (stoney) coral
SS - Sea Swirl
SW - Saltwater / seawater
TC- Turbo Calcium
TBS - Tampa Bay Saltwater, Mail Order Company
TDS - Total Dissolved Solids (measured by conductivity; a gauge of water "purity")

TRT - The Reef Tank, aquarium bulletin board (Also a former Northern Virgina Reef Store)
TWP - Tap Water Purifier from Aquatic Pharmaceuticals
UGF - Undergravel filter
UV - Ultra violet light
VHO - Very high output fluorescent light
WAMAS - Washington Area Marine Aquarist Society (Us!)
W/D - Wet-dry (a method of aquarium filtration)
WD - Wet-dry (a method of aquarium filtration)
WQ - Water Quality
WPG - Watts Per Gallon
YMMV - Your Mileage May Vary
YRMV - Your results may vary

I saw this on the board yesterday and it took me awhile to figure out what someone was auctioning.
PPE - Purple People Eater, zoanthids or button poylps. Also comes in red(RPE) and blue (BPE).

Also pretty common on the board are;
BTA - Bubble Tip Anemone and RBTA (rose)
LTA - Long Tenticle Anemone

Also I see "BRK" on the board and I assume it is a LFS but I have no clue who they are.

Yes, BRK = Blue Ribbon Koi (www.blueribbonkoi.com)
It's just my opinion and it's worth exactly what you paid for it.
